A noisy bar
The noise coming from the bar is loud. It is so loud that I find myself wondering why I accepted to come here in the first place. But who can blame me? Mark wanted us to meet. And he wanted it to be somewhere discrete, not anywhere close to the software company where we worked. I didn't blame him for making such a lousy choice. I have always known that he had a thing for me. The signs have always been there - from the way he gazed at me, to the way he addressed me. Most times when I was with him in a meeting, I could tell that his eyes were all over my body, like he was some human scanner, scanning away at all that my body held underneath whatever clothes I might be putting on. Of course I never showed any undue interest in his lust for me. For one, I was mature enough to understand when a man had his eyes on you. For another, I didn't want to look so cheap. Or desperate.
